International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (June 26, 2017)
On International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, France reaffirms its resolve to fight against this scourge and calls for a deeper international cooperation.
France has been reelected within the United Nations Commission in charge of the fight against narcotic drugs. It defends the integrity of the international drug control regime and supports the efforts of the General Assembly, which adopted recommendations on April 19, 2016 to foster the development of efficient policies and to strengthen the international community cohesion in response to the world drug problem.
Given the threats that it poses for both public health and security, collective solutions must be sought, based on prevention, treatment and fight against traffics, with respect of Human rights.
