63rd IAEA General Conference
The 63rd IAEA General Conference will take place in Vienna from 16 to 20 September 2019. The French delegation will be headed by CEA General Administrator and will take part to discussions and side events. A Fernch exhibition booth is to be seen in the VIC Rotunda.
The French Permanent Mission has uploaded a dedicated website for all information on our participation to the Conference.
From 16 to 20 September 2019, all IAEA Member States, along with observers and non governmental organisations (NGOs) will gather in Vienna for the most important conference of the year, according to the status and mandate of the IAEA.
During this week, Member States will discuss and adopt the resolutions that define the working framework of the AIEA, for the upcoming year. These resolutions deal, among other things, with the imlpementaiton of nuclear safeguards agreements, the support to nuclear energy development or the applications of nuclear techbologies for human health and the environment. Member States will take the opportunity of their national statement to recall their position on these themes, according to the missions of the IAEA.
Each year, in parallel with the General Conference, the IAEA hosts the Scientific Forum whoch, during two days, ill deal with a specific topic in line with nuclear application technologies. This implies high elvel speakers. For 2019, the theme is : « A Decade of Action on Cancer Control, and the way forward »
This year the French delegation will count more than 120 participants, originating from the most imporant institutions and national organisations, the nuclear industry, the nuclear safety and security authority. They will participate to numerous side events.
The Fernch exhibition booth in the VIC Rotunda will offer the possibility to every visitor to meet these actors of the French nuclear expertise.
